How to make your own free ringtones

September 17, 2010

For free! Okay, I just figured this out since I just got a new cell phone. But basically what you do is get the sound file you want (somehow). Then you use Audacity to get the 23 seconds of ringtone that you want; I say 23 seconds because that is the normalĀ amountĀ of time that a cellphone rings before it goes to voice-mail. Then once you have that you email the sound file to your phone. This is pretty easy, you just mail it to: 1112223333@whatever.com Replace “whatever.com” with the appropriate carrier server from this list.

You should get the text within a few minutes. Once you get it open it up and under options there should be an option to save it as a ringtone. Do this. You now have that ringtone! Congratulations.
